Xiaomi 15 used the Silicon-Carbon technology, which has been gaining popularity lately, to incorporate a huge 5,400mAh battery. The Xiaomi 14’s battery capacity was 4,610 mAh. 

Is the Xiaomi 15 larger as a result? It’s only a few millimeters smaller. The dimensions of the glass-backed variant are 152.3 x 71.2 x 8.08 mm, while the previous model’s measurements were 152.8 x 71.5 x 8.2 mm. At 191g instead of 188g, it weighs a few grams more, but you probably won’t notice. 

The screen stays at 6.36″. The 15 is smaller than other Androids, but it’s not tiny. This flat OLED screen has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1,200 x 2,670 pixels. With DC dimming to reduce it, the peak brightness has been slightly increased to 3,200 nits (up from 3,000 nits). For the first time, Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass—ten times more durable than the Gorilla Glass Victus utilized by the Xiaomi 14—is used to safeguard the display, according to Xiaomi’s own lab. The high-strength aluminum alloy used to make the phone’s frame has a 33% greater bending resistance. Xiaomi is, of course, IP68 certified for protection against water and dust. 

There are some adjustments made to the camera system, but not many real improvements. Once more, it is a triple 50MP arrangement. The primary camera makes use of OmniVision’s Light Fusion 900 sensor, which is a 1/1.31″ sensor with 1.2µm pixels (often mistranslated as Light Hunter). The 23mm lens has OIS and a brilliant f/1.62 aperture. Xiaomi claims that its camera can achieve a 5x lossless zoom (120mm). 

Although the telephoto lens’s focal length has decreased from 75mm to 60mm, it can still capture macro images at just 10cm (4in). The lens of the super wide camera is 115° (14mm) f/2.2. One improvement is that the Xiaomi 15 can now record 8K video at 30 frames per second instead of only 24. The 4K 30/60 fps setting, however, could be more useful to you. Every camera can record Dolby Vision HDR video. 

The same USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) connection that enables 90W rapid charging is used for connectivity. Additionally, 50W rapid wireless charging is available. After 1,600 cycles, the Xiaomi G1 battery management chip is rated to retain at least 80% of its capacity.
