Instagram Unveils Spooky Features for Halloween
In celebration of Halloween, Instagram has rolled out an exciting array of interactive features and creative tools aimed at enhancing user engagement during this festive season. Available until November 3rd, these additions provide users with a playful way to connect with friends and express their creativity in a spooky context.
Transform Yourself with AI
One of the standout features is the integration of Meta AI’s Imagine tool, which enables users to morph into Halloween-themed characters, such as vampires, through AI-generated costumes. This feature allows for seamless sharing in Stories, encouraging friends to join in the fun and showcase their own eerie transformations.
Interactive Conversations Made Fun
Instagram has also introduced interactive elements within direct messages (DMs) and Notes. Users can trigger special effects and animations by using keywords like “Happy Halloween” or “Trick-or-treat,” or by sending Halloween-themed emojis such as Jack-O’-Lanterns, ghosts, or spider webs. This adds a whimsical touch to conversations, making interactions more engaging.

For trend enthusiasts, Instagram has launched five custom Halloween Add Yours templates. These templates can be found in the ‘Happy Halloween’ section of the new Add Yours Templates Discovery Surface in Stories, providing users with a platform to connect and participate in Halloween-themed trends.
